Yup, I’ve been playing a lot of Super Smash Bros for WiiU/3DS in the last week. It’s really rekindled my Smash Bros love! I finally got Duck Hunt Duo on both versions of the game, and as unwieldy as he might be, I bloody love using him!
I’m doing really well with him. In my opinion he’s all to do with timing, seeing as his attacks are mainly charges based; meaning that his smash attacks have a delay to it, just like Link’s attacks.
I’ll be honest, I wasn’t attracted to Amiibos before. I can understand that this is Nintendo’s response to Activision’s SkyLanders and Disney’s Infinity toy lines. Nintendo incorporated NFC into the Nintendo WiiU gamepad, and originally UbiSoft were going to have their own line of NFC based toys for their RayMan Legends game for the WiiU. But on launch Nintendo didn’t have the software ready on time for the NFC sensor, and Ubisoft delayed the Rayman game. That however didn’t stop Nintendo from learning a thing or two from the market and making their own set of toys for the Smash Bros game. Then making them compatible with other Nintendo titles later on.
I might not understand the Amiibo toys, but that doesn’t mean I never had any action figures. As a kid I had He-Man, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and GI Joe toys. Eventually I stopped getting into them, and they we’re left at my grandparents house where my younger cousins would play with them. Continue reading →
Been playing a bit of Smash Bros for WiiU and 3DS. It’s cool to see classic characters such as PacMan and the Duck Hunt dog in the game, but the Granddaddy of video game characters, the Space Invader should make an appearance. It’s weird that the game has potential for DLC characters, however it turns out that MewTwo will be the only downloadable character for the game, so far. So allow me to dream of how a Space Invader would work in Super Smash Bros.
Please be aware that these images are made by me, and therefore are not real! Please don’t post “New Character coming” posts on forums please!!!
A little bit late, I know. I’m sure if you’re into Smash Bros you’ve already read this, but to make up for time I’ll be putting this out there. Better late than never right?
Nintendo announced that Super Smash Bros for WiiU and Amiibo will be released in the US on the 21st of November. In the UK, Amiibo will be released on the 28th of November, and the game will be released a week after on the 5th of December. Whilst Australia will get both Smash Bros for WiiU and Amiibo on the 6th of December. Continue reading →
Japan today got a Nintendo Direct today, and a few things got announced. There’s a “New” 3DS coming out with a second stick which is just one of those IBM ThinkPad nipples. But a character got revealed that might mean that some “Other” character might be revealed soon… Maybe… Please…
OK, I’ve had my bit of fun watching all the E3 conferences and shows. It’s not time to get to work and talk about the good and bad things about this year’s show.
Microsoft’s show was better this year compared to last year, it was fortunate that it wasn’t all to do with Sports and TV! Typically Microsoft and the XBox being the “First Person Shooter” console, they had to show off the next Call of Duty game, Advanced Warfare, pretty much like Modern Warfare, but now more sci-fi with more drones and flashy lights on body armour. As you might tell I don’t give a damn about the COD series, and personally I wish that Activision would concentrate on something else for a change!
After seeing Forza Horizon 2 and Witcher 3, I saw a game that I kinda knew about through from fake marketing of an energy drink called Overdrive. The game is called “Sunset Overdrive”, and the video starts off being a joke to other FPS games having to take cover behind things and having a character, who’s a bit doucheir than your typical douche-bag, destroy the enemy that trying to attack said “Call of Duty”-like soldier before doucey-Mc-DouceMeister explains his game, and looking at the gameplay it looks really cool. Imagine a third person contra game, but being able to do Sonic the Hedgehog like tricks such as grind rails and run up walls, then mix it up with Left 4 Dead style Co-op where you take out mutants who are simply people who have been drinking the Overdrive energy drink. It’s nice to see some colour in an XBox game! It’s just a shame that this is an XBox One exclusive title. Continue reading →
