Brazil is known to have some of the biggest Sega fan boys out there in the world. Mainly due to the fact that in Brazil, things typically would have to manufactured inside the country, or else there would be some serious fees for trying to buy stuff from outside the country. That’s where TecToy came in, and in the late 80s manufactured they manufactured the Sega Master System and the MegaDrive to the Brazilian market. Sega was huge in Brazil, as Nintendo and Atari didn’t manufacture their goods inside Brazil, and seeing that Sega allowed the toy company, Tec Toy, to manufacturer their hardware outside of Japan and China, no one else had a spot in Brazil’s Sega heavy games market. Today, Nintendo finally showed off what their Codename: NX is. It turns out to be a machine named the Nintendo Switch; and as predicted many months ago, it’s a console/portable hybrid system with a detachable controller.
I go over some things such as the controllers that the system has, such as the Joy-Cons (the detachable controllers), the Joy-Con Grip, and the Switch Pro Controller (which I don’t like). I made a few pointers, such as the next Mario game (that I called Super Mario Fiesta) has a two player mode, and that no one is touching the screen, meaning that this system might not use a touch screen at all.
Go ahead and put your opinions about the Nintendo Switch in the comments below!
After much anticipation for the reveal of Nintendo’s next console, the Code-name: NX. Nintendo has announced this morning that the NX, or what is the NX, will be shown off today at 15:00 GMT. Continue reading
Nintendo on Thursday released a Direct video to announce the final details before releasing the game later this month. What was cool was that Nintendo released a demo of the game called the Global Test fire. This is a temporary demo of the game that ran on hour slots today on Saturday, and I got into the action myself.
The Test Fire demo showcased three levels and four weapons. You can pick between the basic three main types of weapon, the Splatter shot, a rapid fire weapon, the Splat Roller, an oversized paint roller, and the the Splat Charger, a Sniper Rifle that shots ink at long distances, but no spread. I found myself using the Splat Roller the most as it really covers the ground well seeing as it is a bit paint roller, it’s attack isn’t so great, but at the end of the day your team win if you have covered the level in your colour of ink, not deaths, so it makes sense that the Splat Roller was my weapon of choice. This morning, Nintendo made two major announcements, one was their partnership with Japanese Mobile App developer, DeNA, pronounced DNA. The next was revealing a codename of a new piece of Nintendo hardware called NX.
So what is this partnership with DeNA about? Nintendo has given the rights of their IPs accessible to DeNA. Meaning that DeNA can make mobile versions of Mario, Zelda, Metroid, or any other Nintendo franchise onto Android and iOS platforms. Continue reading
It was my birthday over the weekend, and I got myself a good amount of birthday money. I went out and got myself a lot of awesome gaming stuff. There’s some boring things that I needed like new jeans and shirts, but let’s talk about the good stuff!
Early in the morning, I went to my local carboot sale and found a Russian man selling a whole bunch of games including a Sega Saturn Virtua Gun. It was a bummer that House of the Dead wasn’t included with the gun, but I bought 10 games from the seller for £50. Typically I don’t spend more than £30 at a carboot sale, but I did get a WiiU Game, Nintendo Land, Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles on Wii, and Harvest Moon Magical Melody all boxed, complete and in great condition. The only unboxed games I got from the seller was Street Fighter 2 Turbo and FlashBack on the SNES. Even if I spent £50 on all this, it was originally going to be £65! But the seller was quite a pushover and haggled it down to £50; £15 off for all that isn’t bad at all! Continue reading
I’m perfectly aware that I’m a lazy son of a bitch who’ll do everything half arsed. Such as release a Vlog on Youtube, but not release it on my own damn web site! Not to mention it’s a pretty big deal seeing as it’s a big box of GameBoy games sent to me from the hella awesome William Culver, the host of the Arcade USA show on Youtube. But let me get this over and done with; honestly though, I should’ve done this a week ago!
Nintendo announced that Amiibos in the future can unlock demos of classic games based on the said character. Which in fairness is all right seeing as Nintendo is trying to add more to Amiibos than they started off with. However I will have to stress that they’re demos and not full games; similar to that seen in the Masterpiece screen in Smash Bros fro WiiU.
It would be nice if Nintendo would give away a free NES game with an Amiibo, then again in doing so might result in increasing the price of them, they’re still £15 each in high street stores. £15 for a figure with no articulation is insane in my opinion, even when it must be 20 years since I left got an action figure! Time for some catch up, seeing as I appear to still be bad at organising this blog! In Today’s Vlog I talk about something weird I noticed today when I found a charity shop selling an N64 Jumper Pak. The thing you use in order to boot up the console, you only ever remove it if you’re installing an Expansion Pak into your system. But after a bit of talking to people on Twitter it turns out that some retailers where known to remove jumper paks out of pre-owned N64 systems!
Not only that, I talk a bit about the announced Zelda Netflix TV show, Persona 5, and an awesome modded PS1 with a model of Final Fantasy VII’s Midgar on the top of it! Continue reading
Seriously! Look at it! It’s a GameBoy Multicart that’s simply two GameBoy carts stacked on top of each other! I can swear by looking at it that it’s taller than a GameBoy Camera; possibly taller than a GameBoy Game Genie! It’s totally ridiculous, but that in itself make me want it more! Plus I like to point out that this multicart has a button on the top. I’ve seen these before, they’re used to switch between games on the cart. I had a pirate multicart once; you had to keep flicking the on and off switch rapidly to switch between games. It was a pretty good multicart too that featured Dr. Mario (but I already own it by the time I got it), Klax, MotoCross Maniacs and of course the obligatory Battle City; because every multicart needs a version of Battle City on it!
