This morning, Nintendo made two major announcements, one was their partnership with Japanese Mobile App developer, DeNA, pronounced DNA. The next was revealing a codename of a new piece of Nintendo hardware called NX.
So what is this partnership with DeNA about? Nintendo has given the rights of their IPs accessible to DeNA. Meaning that DeNA can make mobile versions of Mario, Zelda, Metroid, or any other Nintendo franchise onto Android and iOS platforms. Continue reading →
It was my birthday over the weekend, and I got myself a good amount of birthday money. I went out and got myself a lot of awesome gaming stuff. There’s some boring things that I needed like new jeans and shirts, but let’s talk about the good stuff!
Early in the morning, I went to my local carboot sale and found a Russian man selling a whole bunch of games including a Sega Saturn Virtua Gun. It was a bummer that House of the Dead wasn’t included with the gun, but I bought 10 games from the seller for £50. Typically I don’t spend more than £30 at a carboot sale, but I did get a WiiU Game, Nintendo Land, Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles on Wii, and Harvest Moon Magical Melody all boxed, complete and in great condition. The only unboxed games I got from the seller was Street Fighter 2 Turbo and FlashBack on the SNES. Even if I spent £50 on all this, it was originally going to be £65! But the seller was quite a pushover and haggled it down to £50; £15 off for all that isn’t bad at all! Continue reading →
Nintendo announced that Amiibos in the future can unlock demos of classic games based on the said character. Which in fairness is all right seeing as Nintendo is trying to add more to Amiibos than they started off with. However I will have to stress that they’re demos and not full games; similar to that seen in the Masterpiece screen in Smash Bros fro WiiU.
It would be nice if Nintendo would give away a free NES game with an Amiibo, then again in doing so might result in increasing the price of them, they’re still £15 each in high street stores. £15 for a figure with no articulation is insane in my opinion, even when it must be 20 years since I left got an action figure! Yup, I’ve been playing a lot of Super Smash Bros for WiiU/3DS in the last week. It’s really rekindled my Smash Bros love! I finally got Duck Hunt Duo on both versions of the game, and as unwieldy as he might be, I bloody love using him!
I’m doing really well with him. In my opinion he’s all to do with timing, seeing as his attacks are mainly charges based; meaning that his smash attacks have a delay to it, just like Link’s attacks.
Today’s Vlog is a response to a Youtube video that I found through Twitter. Mister InfectedFlinch asks the question of Linear or Open World games? In other words do you enjoy games that have a set plot and task, or do you rather what to do your own thing, explore the world, and make your own story?
Here’s Dave’s video talking about his issue with Grand Theft Auto V.
Today I got myself a whole handful of games, ranging from new to used at a pretty good price!
It was a good bargain find if I do say so myself! the whole lot came to about £40. Granted it wasn’t an awesome carboot sale moment. But when the mornings are dark, making carboot sales suck, it’s nice to get bargains from website and charity shops!
Did you find any bargains recently? Did you get anything from the GamesCollection’s January sale? Do you know any charity shops with awesome games in them? Tell me in the comments below!
Firstly is the already announced After Burner II 3D on the 3DS. A part of the second wave of 3D Sega titles, After Burner II will appear first in this week’s eShop update on Thursday. After Burner, just like Space Harrier, is one of many Yu Suzuki Sega title that I would love to experience in stereoscopic 3D. Continue reading →
Japan today got a Nintendo Direct today, and a few things got announced. There’s a “New” 3DS coming out with a second stick which is just one of those IBM ThinkPad nipples. But a character got revealed that might mean that some “Other” character might be revealed soon… Maybe… Please…
I was planning to write more blogs during the time I was at Revival this year. However, the WordPress app has a hard time publishing on 3G, which is a huge pain when there’s no “real” free wireless. This year Revival was at the same location as last year, Dunstall Park in Wolverhampton.
I got in on Friday afternoon to help Mike set up his booth for RetroGaming Roundup. @Random_Dave got to show off his new game, James & Watch: Arm, he originally had it as a DreamCast game, but got to port it to Linux at the last minute and had it running on a Raspberry Pi. The game is pretty much like Fire, but you control the 6 year old Mike being thrown about. Continue reading →
