A little bit late, I know. I’m sure if you’re into Smash Bros you’ve already read this, but to make up for time I’ll be putting this out there. Better late than never right?
Nintendo announced that Super Smash Bros for WiiU and Amiibo will be released in the US on the 21st of November. In the UK, Amiibo will be released on the 28th of November, and the game will be released a week after on the 5th of December. Whilst Australia will get both Smash Bros for WiiU and Amiibo on the 6th of December.
The GameCube adapter has be announced with a price tag of $19.99 without a controller. I’m going to guess that it’ll cost about £14.99 over here in ole’ Blighty. Nintendo announced that it’s only going to work with Smash Bros for Wii U. As you can imagine, a lot of web sites such as Kotaku have had their readers (and writers) get annoyed by this. Which is funny considering that I know some people who despised the GameCube controller. I’ll just have to admit that people on the internet are never satisfied, ever…
Smash Bros creator, Masahiro Sakurai, announced on MiiVerse what adding Amiibos into Smash Bros for WiiU looks like. Looks as if there will be an option screen to import your figures into the game. The game will refer to these as “FP”, or Figure Player. Personal I’m not sold on the idea of these, but at least their optional. It shows that Nintendo is understanding EA and Disney’s marketing decisions behind Sky Landers and Disney Infinity. Nintendo Should make quite a lot of money making these things. It’s just a shame I won’t be buying them.
