I’ll be honest, I wasn’t attracted to Amiibos before. I can understand that this is Nintendo’s response to Activision’s SkyLanders and Disney’s Infinity toy lines. Nintendo incorporated NFC into the Nintendo WiiU gamepad, and originally UbiSoft were going to have their own line of NFC based toys for their RayMan Legends game for the WiiU. But on launch Nintendo didn’t have the software ready on time for the NFC sensor, and Ubisoft delayed the Rayman game. That however didn’t stop Nintendo from learning a thing or two from the market and making their own set of toys for the Smash Bros game. Then making them compatible with other Nintendo titles later on.
I might not understand the Amiibo toys, but that doesn’t mean I never had any action figures. As a kid I had He-Man, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and GI Joe toys. Eventually I stopped getting into them, and they we’re left at my grandparents house where my younger cousins would play with them. Continue reading →
Firstly is the already announced After Burner II 3D on the 3DS. A part of the second wave of 3D Sega titles, After Burner II will appear first in this week’s eShop update on Thursday. After Burner, just like Space Harrier, is one of many Yu Suzuki Sega title that I would love to experience in stereoscopic 3D. Continue reading →
Seriously! I’m officially calling the 3rd Sunday of March “Awesome Shopping Sunday”. I can’t believe what I managed to swag up! To start it off, I barely got a wink of sleep last night, so at about 6:30 am, I got into the shower, got dressed, and actually got to the local car boot sale when it starts at 7:00 am, as opposed to the other times I get there, which is sometimes 9 or 10 am. Seriously though, even though I didn’t get a huge supply of games, people are selling off DVDs at 50p a disc! I mean man, maybe Netflix really is destroying the physical video media market if the customers are willing to sell their films and TV Box sets it dirty low prices!
Not only did I get a butt ton of DVDs, but I got an awesome Homer Simpson tin toy I got for a fiver that I found can sell up to £60 on eBay! Continue reading →
So yeah, I’ve said quite a few times that the Wii U for me is both expensive and Lacking in games. However, today I received an email from GAME, a company for whom I have an odd Love-Hate relationship with, leaning more towards hate, but this time they’ve shown this off. A Wii U pack that comes with New Super Mario Bros U, Super Luigi U, and Wii Sports Club all for £219.99. Considering that the typical price for the New Super Mario Bros U pack alone costs £249.99, including Wii Sports Club in there, and take off £30 off the £249 price tag. That’s a lot of gaming for £219! Now let’s put a game that I want, Pikmin 3, on top of that and it puts the total price up to £251.99. So that’s the Wii U Console, three games, one expansion pack for the same price as the New Super Mario Bros U Wii U pack. I think that’s a deal! Add £7 after that for downloading EarthBound, and Bob’s your Uncle, you have a decent Wii U pack for £40 less compared to last years price with only one game!
For those interested, this offer is only available online (Hence why I highlighted the “Price may differ in store” note) and is only available at this price for the next 6 days. So if you want more bang for your buck for the Wii U, you might want to have a look into this!
