Mr Random Dave showed me this crazy overlooked PlayStation action game called, Rising Zan The Samurai Gunman; and my word, I seriously need to try this game out!
After finding the intro of the game on YouTube, I really wanted to play this game so much! A Wild-west gunman who travels to Japan to become a Samurai and returns to save his town is a great plot, but what makes this better is how silly, over the top and how it never takes itself seriously, ever! It was my birthday over the weekend, and I got myself a good amount of birthday money. I went out and got myself a lot of awesome gaming stuff. There’s some boring things that I needed like new jeans and shirts, but let’s talk about the good stuff!
Early in the morning, I went to my local carboot sale and found a Russian man selling a whole bunch of games including a Sega Saturn Virtua Gun. It was a bummer that House of the Dead wasn’t included with the gun, but I bought 10 games from the seller for £50. Typically I don’t spend more than £30 at a carboot sale, but I did get a WiiU Game, Nintendo Land, Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles on Wii, and Harvest Moon Magical Melody all boxed, complete and in great condition. The only unboxed games I got from the seller was Street Fighter 2 Turbo and FlashBack on the SNES. Even if I spent £50 on all this, it was originally going to be £65! But the seller was quite a pushover and haggled it down to £50; £15 off for all that isn’t bad at all! Continue reading →
I’m perfectly aware that I’m a lazy son of a bitch who’ll do everything half arsed. Such as release a Vlog on Youtube, but not release it on my own damn web site! Not to mention it’s a pretty big deal seeing as it’s a big box of GameBoy games sent to me from the hella awesome William Culver, the host of the Arcade USA show on Youtube. But let me get this over and done with; honestly though, I should’ve done this a week ago!
Mr. Anon and MK, a pair of users from the Planet Virtual Boy website, went through the effort of porting Street Fighter II onto the Virtual Boy. Street Fighter II did get a port on the original GameBoy with Super GameBoy support, but not the ill-fated Virtual Boy. In-fact I’m pretty sure there wasn’t any fighting games apart from Telero Boxer, which was more of a PunchOut style boxing game rather than an arcade fighting game. The game is called Hyper Fighting, or obvious reasons…
Seriously! Look at it! It’s a GameBoy Multicart that’s simply two GameBoy carts stacked on top of each other! I can swear by looking at it that it’s taller than a GameBoy Camera; possibly taller than a GameBoy Game Genie! It’s totally ridiculous, but that in itself make me want it more! Plus I like to point out that this multicart has a button on the top. I’ve seen these before, they’re used to switch between games on the cart. I had a pirate multicart once; you had to keep flicking the on and off switch rapidly to switch between games. It was a pretty good multicart too that featured Dr. Mario (but I already own it by the time I got it), Klax, MotoCross Maniacs and of course the obligatory Battle City; because every multicart needs a version of Battle City on it! A game I really want to try out on real arcade hardware is a little unknown to most gamers. Heiankyo Alien; A Japanese only release, with only a port on the GameBoy that got to the US. A lot of people don’t know the real importance that Heiankyo Alien gave to the gaming industry.
PC Gamer today showed off some gorgeous pictures of the PC version of Grand Theft Auto 5. It makes me fairly happy that I didn’t go and get console editions. Though to be brutally I have only got into sand box style games like this a few years ago, and I haven’t finished any of the GTA games yet.
He’s got a set of great videos that show off his collection, some game reviews, Long plays of games and some videos on bootleg games too.
Here is Matt’s GameBoy collection! It’s pretty impressive, though he concentrates more on cartridges rather than complete in box games. But he’s got a lot of rarities in there such as the Japanese only Barcode Boy and the Swedish only release Bamse. Continue reading →
Firstly is the already announced After Burner II 3D on the 3DS. A part of the second wave of 3D Sega titles, After Burner II will appear first in this week’s eShop update on Thursday. After Burner, just like Space Harrier, is one of many Yu Suzuki Sega title that I would love to experience in stereoscopic 3D. Continue reading →
I’ll admit, I’m not the biggest fan of Sony, nor am I huge fan of the PlayStation. But I will admit the fact that the PlayStation had a pretty impressive library of games for it. Since the release PlayStation 4, I’ve seen a lot of vinyl sticker packs to dress up your PS4 to make it look like an Atari 2600 or an NES; but I thought to myself “Why hasn’t they made a PS1 skin for the PS4 yet?” Well, the 20th anniversary of the PlayStation comes along, and now there’s a super limited edition version of the PS4 console donning the classic grey colour… Continue reading →
