I sometimes wonder how I bloody function at times, seriously…
As mentioned in the title, Enhance, Tetsuya Mizuguchi’s new company after Q Entertainment and Sega have announced that they will be making the next Tetris game, Tetris Effect. For those who don’t know of Tetsuya Mizuguchi’s work, he was the man behind Space Channel 5, Rez, Lumines, and Every Extend Extra. It appears that this new Tetris game is going to be a sensory aural and visual experience with Mizuguchi’s legendary visualisations and music as you play the classic puzzle game that vaguely looks like the original Electronika 60 version, but with some futuristic neon visual effects. As if I keep on resurrecting this dead horse, over and over again; I need to talk about a new plan I have. I’ve noticed a new wave of Twitch channels that concentrate on either a single game, a single game genre, or even a single game console, rather than just playing the latest and hottest game that’s out. So I’ve come up with the idea of returning to Twitch; but rather than trying to beat a random game, or play something that’s new, I would concentrate on the system that I loved as a kid, the humble GameBoy. Brazil is known to have some of the biggest Sega fan boys out there in the world. Mainly due to the fact that in Brazil, things typically would have to manufactured inside the country, or else there would be some serious fees for trying to buy stuff from outside the country. That’s where TecToy came in, and in the late 80s manufactured they manufactured the Sega Master System and the MegaDrive to the Brazilian market. Sega was huge in Brazil, as Nintendo and Atari didn’t manufacture their goods inside Brazil, and seeing that Sega allowed the toy company, Tec Toy, to manufacturer their hardware outside of Japan and China, no one else had a spot in Brazil’s Sega heavy games market. As we get closer to finishing the Spectrum Episode, we discover that Koichi the whole time knew that Hikaru was dead, and that he was depressed about it.
I then had to do a crazy ass pop quiz, before finding out what really happened. Hiruma, the man who committed suicide, were chasing after Koichi and Hikaru before they got split up and Hikaru was caught between Hiruma and a crossing train. The fear got so much that he suffered a heart attack. What a bummer…
After announcing the game on Tuesday, Rockstar revealed the Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer. It looks to be a very pretty game, but it barely shows any of the characters, or what kind of plot it might have. Though in honesty that might be a good thing because we have to wait a year before this game comes out. As expected the game is coming out on the PS4 and XBox One; there doesn’t seem to be a PC release. However, Rockstar did announce that there will be a way to play Red Dead Redemption (1) on the PC through Sony’s PlayStation Now streaming service. Personally I just wish there was a means to get it properly on the PC through Steam, but at least that’s another game on PlayStation Now that makes the service worth it.
Today, Nintendo finally showed off what their Codename: NX is. It turns out to be a machine named the Nintendo Switch; and as predicted many months ago, it’s a console/portable hybrid system with a detachable controller.
I go over some things such as the controllers that the system has, such as the Joy-Cons (the detachable controllers), the Joy-Con Grip, and the Switch Pro Controller (which I don’t like). I made a few pointers, such as the next Mario game (that I called Super Mario Fiesta) has a two player mode, and that no one is touching the screen, meaning that this system might not use a touch screen at all.
Go ahead and put your opinions about the Nintendo Switch in the comments below!
